One cannot talk about Paul without mentioning the Preacher, for they are one in the same.
One cannot talk about Paul without mentioning the Preacher, for they are one in the same. The Preacher appeared shortly after Paul’s walk into the desert, preaching against Alia, the "religion" of Muad'Dib and the Empire.
This brilliant character seeks to destroy the myth he created in Paul, allowing his son Leto to create and follow “The Golden Path”.
The Preacher died at the end of the events in Children of Dune. The book tells us that he met his doom at the hands of the clerics of the Quizarate, during a riot. However the mini-series shows him being slaughtered by a member of the Cast Out.
