Just thought I should mention that Dudelove76, according to his email addy, is recently banned from lexx.com poster Mr T (for spammy threads -- there he always tried to write in the style of Mr. T).
__________________________
I suspected as much. In fact I was going to get his info off of Mantrid next time I saw him. :) We will just have to keep an eye on him, or her. But having been recently busted on lexx.com, they may moderate their behavior a bit here. Or at least we can hope. :D
Well, I try hard not to pre-judge someone -- people are always capable of change, and many people often will adjust their styles to the different boards (at this board people are generally remarkably well-behaved -- even I lost my old lexx.com tendency to "funk wit ya" ;)), but his/their attitude, writing style and behavior so far is more than reminiscent of his/their attitude at lexx.com which is why we both automatically assumed they were the same.
Anyway, I hope he adjusts/ starts to moderate his behavior (here are his threads BTW)

It really does sound like he's doing a bad FunkET impression now. ;) Yep, I used to have a character at madeincanada.ca called Funky-T who spoke very much like that -- I have no problem with that. Anyway, the "Sci Fi Angst" one is fine I think since it is sci-fi angst, but the one in General TV SciFi Stuff is totally off-topic and so a little thoughtless, and spammy for him to post it there (more a Pub sort of topic, if any forum I would think). I was initially thinking maybe it should be moved at least, but maybe better not to do anything yet, don't want to provoke him, and he may prove himself yet to be a very valuable contributor to/member of sadgeezer.com (maybe even a moderator like me someday :P).
Anyway, I'm not really suggesting any action, just wanted to let people know in case they found his posts curious (I guess they are kind of amusing).
Sorry, I have rambled a bit -- a lot on my mind these days/ a lot going on.

WTF is this guys problem? At least it's partially explained here.
He started a thread trashing adults who read Harry Potter. No substance, just trying to start a fight. So I read through the other thread on him and a few Lexx.com posters explained he was banned for this same stuff on Lexx.com. His reply
"Mantrid is a racist."
Ooooookay.
Here's to hoping Sadgeezer doesent become the refuge for the Lexx.com ban-ees.
The Mantrid is a racist bit came about because he felt that that Lexx.com mod was picking on him, and since his persona over there was Mr T, and Mr. T the actor is black, he, jokingly I'm sure, called it racial discrimination. Anyway, it wasn't a particularly good joke, but it seems few people at lexx.com "got" it.
Anyway, there have been lots of flamewars over the past few months at lexx.com (I got really sick of it), and a few people banned, and Mr T and enemies was just another one of them. I'm sad that that particular dispute trickled over here -- it takes at least two to make a flamewar.
I always find it interesting how the most popular threads are often the most negative. For instance, at least one lexx.commer finally posted here just so that he could be insulting to Dude. Anyway, it's going a bit far IMHO. My most important rule for my forum is: show eachother respect, and I won't tolerate hurtful insults, not even from myself (I insult myself enough in real life as it is).
On the other hand, one could argue that any business is good business, and if the controversial Dude gets people posting at this site...
I don't really mind if this site does become a refuge for banned lexx.commers or other sites -- at least in some cases this may be a place where they can make a fresh start or change if we all give them the opportunity. This is such an excellent site, with thoughtful people, that I think given time even the unkindest, most thoughtless heart would melt -- I mean it. Sadgeezer.com is an unusually good place, but I digress.
In Dude's case I found him rather irritatingly spammy as soon as he started posting here which is why I made this thread. Normally I wouldn't care. I wouldn't automatically be disrespectful to someone just because of what happened at another board. I personally didn't mind him at lexx.com until he was almost banned (mind you, I miseed all the spammy deleted threads of his), and bear no real grudge against him for anything he did there. I was sorry that his posts led to even more bitterness and rancor amongst Lexxists at that site.
Anyway, this Dude case aside where he's been a bit obnoxious and insulting (as have some people to an extent who've responded to him IMHO -- ignoring trolls is good as a general rule), I'd like to see people who were banned from other sites treated with the same respect as others, as long as they aren't being rude, or obnoxious etc. There have been cases at all sites where I didn't think that people who were banned should have been banned, and vice versa.
Anyway, just rambling in the wind again. :)

P.S. LexxLurker, I did like your comments in his Harry Potter thread; tactful yet to the point.

To be honest, I've just read all his threads and they are all crap! The racist comment (even considering the attempt at a joke) is also out of line so I've cautioned him. - in the 'maon' thread.
I don't think his comments are particularly bad, I'd just really like to get rid of stupid posts like his!

I guess my biggest resentment is that I have to check his posts each day for half an hour. I deleted 2 today (without warning) just because they were really stupid.
Either this guy is REALLY stupid or he is a childish troll (ie. not a very good one). He seems to want to stir up heated discussion and because he's not quite good enough to do it, he aims the heated comments towards himself.
I'm trying to explain things to him in as clear a way as possible, but I STILL had to delete two of his posts :(
It's a bit of a dilema, do I have the right to delete posts because the geezer posting is a fool?
Tony, your patience is admirable! And that you would have such a dilemma at all is one of the reasons why I love this site. You have a kind of right of course to delete any posts, Sadgeezer (it is at your discretion). And ethically it's fine too -- you're trying to keep this site from becoming a craphouse, and I'm sure most people would appreciate that. Anyway, you've taken the time to warn him (explain to him), it's up to him now to change, or go. If he doesn't want to change then what's the good to anybody, including himself if he stays?
Anyway, I can't help but think that what he's doing is deliberate -- I don't think he's very bright, but i'm sure he got the message. If members had ignored him initially he might just have gone away, but I'm always hopeful that people will change. He can write foolish posts, but do they really have to be so bloody irritating? So absolutely, IMHO, you have EVERY right to delete them -- and if he continues to make trouble despite your warning you have every right (moral etc.) to ban him.

Thanks Logan, interesting thread - LONG but interesting :)
In fact that's why I decided to ban DL76 without notifying the other members of SadBAORD with an announcement (as I usually would). I think that would have drawn even more attention to a poster who really doeasn't deserve it.
Actually he's been posting at lexx.com under a new nick, don't know if the mods have caught on yet, I'm guessing they must have. Now that he seems to have lost his act he's a pretty cool poster (for someone of 16 ;)). People can change (he may revert in time). :D I think being banned a couple of times was the best thing that could have happened to him -- maybe he just tired of being thought of as a loser. Interesting, he's been emailing me asking if I'd letr him back in. I said I'd think about it after a couple of weeks. Sure enough, he emailed me a couple of weeks later and asked to be let back in. Based on your above post, I'm tempted to let him back in.
Ahhh, maybe not. It seems I was a little hasty with my last post *must kick myself very hard* I thought he might revert back to his old self in time, but it happened sooner than I expected. Omega666 (aka Dudelove, aka Mr T) was banned again from lexx.com for extremely bad behavior. I don't know what precipitated his reversion, but I expect that he may have been deleted by a mod again, or maybe they found out who he was and let him know. His last thread at lexx.com. But, if you ever get rusty with your deletion and editing skills then you may wish to consider allowing Dudelove a temporary home here -- very temporary I suspect.
Interesting, I genuinely like Bonnee. I find many of his posts, his thoughts, his outlook, insightful and interesting -- he can be a bit tedious at times I suppose... (to me the good stuff outweighs the bad)... Whether I ultimately agree or diasagree with him is immaterial, and I've certainly agreed with him wholly or in part very many times with what I've seen, what matters to me is that he has the ability to show me another way to look at something (it's easy and unnecessary to state the obvious, it takes more skill to offer an alternative). He may offer another angle, and sometimes he even challenges my beliefs to an extent, and that is a good thing I believe -- unshakable faith can be a most dangerous thing. It's good to have ones beliefs challenged regualrly lest we become complacent.
Perhaps it's because I'm still a relative newbie and a lot happened before I came here, so I've never understood what the big deal with Bonnee is. In the few, minor conflicts I've seen him participate in he was quite level-headed, rational, and was certainly no more in the wrong than anyone he was arguing with. In those few cases (say ADM vs. Bonneee) I actually thought that he made his case better and with less anger than his combatant[s].
It does take at least two to make a flame-war, and he who repeatedly attacks a troll is generally just as much a troll IMHO, often more-so. In most conflicts blame can be apportioned to both sides, and both sides usually end up being in the wrong.
As a moderator I think the most important position I might find myself in is as an impartial arbitrator -- a dispute settler. I hope I never give anyone a real reason for me to become the object of their ire because they feel I've wronged them -- in that case if I can't handle it diplomatically, apologetically, or more forcefully depending on the situation, I'd need one of you to arbitrate between us, and that would be extremely awkward.
Anyway, I digress. Bonne has a sadgeezerish quality that I find refreshing. He's passionate, outspoken, and not afraid to be controversial, but he can also be quite wise and thoughtful. I'm sure I've missed something, because he obviously continues to get on people's nerves. At his worst, I am never more than bemused with him. I guess I just have difficulty taking him all that seriously, but on those occassions when I do, I am interested to hear his thoughts and for me, it amkes his presence very worthwhile.
Anyway, I suppose that I've ecountered him smugly judging people, and I have seen him quite sarcastic and that is a fault. Judge not lest ye be judged, principle of charity and all that. But, well, I like him. Maybe if he ever started posting in The Prisoner forum I'd grow to dislike him, or maybe given time and experience my thoughts on him will change. We'll see. It takes all types to make a great board (well, not all types), and the eclectic mix of shows here lends itself to real diversity.
Sadgeezers of the World Unite,
-Logan the obvious newbie who's not afraid to show his greenness ;)
:D ah well, to each his own i suppose...suffice to say that bonnee is quite charming and rational when it suits, and quite the bully and sneak when he thinks he can get away with it...i suspect it's a similar situation to dudelove in that many of you have been around long enough on all the boards to be more familiar with dudelove, whereas those of us who have suffered through bonnee's bad behavior here have grown more weary- and wary- of him ;)
ADM is another long timer here whose feelings run ahead of his brain sometimes...he's very loyal and emotional, and very binary in his reponses (you are with me or against me and so forth) but he has never actually started a fight...he is hypersensitive enough to continue a fight where none was intended, and it takes some mollifying to get him to see the other viewpoint...overall not a bad or mean person however...and good practice for real world 8)
Thanks for the resonse FX (excellently and diplomatically expressed :D), I kinda figured I didn't really know the whole story -- so what little I've seen has probably been out of context . I must say, it's pretty impossible to trust anybody with a sig like, "I'm like an epiphany, i'll get to you next."
I like ADM, and I can only hope the feeling is mutual, we've had our differences, but that's the cool thing about this site, we can have different opinions and still be a community, in fact it makes us a healthier community because of it -- and sadgeezers are unusually supportive of eachother I've found. Good stuff! BTW, nice to have this forum where I can put my foot in my mouth etc. out of the spotlight; ;) great info source too.
I wasn't going to mention it, and most of you are no doubt aware of it, but DudeLove is posting here as sexecutioner... I know he was unbanned before... He was recently banned, permanently this time, at lexx.com again after a long run... Knew he'd come back here.
I don't like to hold the past against people, but you learn from it. I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt, but I already decided to edit one of his posts... A minor grievance, I changed "Kirk rape Spock" to "Kirk uses the Vulcan love-lock on Spock"... I thought it was unnecessarily graphic -- he needs to learn something about subtlety. And I don't want to give him too much leeway... Especially since he PMed me with the following message "I know you. That is all" which slightly bugged me.

Well now I'm aware. Just for kicks, I checked and the email address and isp do match. Go figure! ;)
In one of the threads s/he posted in, someone (Pet or Nursewhen or whomever) called him JJ too. Is this also Jumping Jedi? I wondered what happened to him? ...and DT790
No, JJ is for Jacknife_Johnny... Haven't seen Jumping_Jedi around anywhere for ages.
Sexecutioner, aka DudeLove, aka Mr T, aka Omega_666, aka Mrs V etc. has had more nicks than I have brain cells.
He made no secret of his identity. His PM, kissarerocknroll75_559@ho is well-known to people who remember him here or at lexx.com, and as he said, at lexx.com he'd mentioned that sexecutioner would be his choice for a new nick, so I recognised him as soon as I saw the name (I really don't spend much time at lexx.com since I prefer it here, but I must have somehow noticed that..). In fact he's not the kind who seems able to conceal his identity one bit. For one thing, his profound love for KISS and Alice Cooper always gives him away. ;)
He's just someone to watch; he can get pretty abusive and spammy, but he certainly has livened up the board a bit. I was kinda looking forward to his return here when he was banned for the final time at lexx.com.
I do prefer it if someone sticks to the one nick, but I can understand Dudelove using the new one... Really, I don't like it when people use multiple nicks at a board (e.g. FG using Mothbreeder and Tish), especially as in it can create confusion and when it's used to talk to oneselves, (Lexxicon uses Mothbreeder commonly so people assumed it was him) but I guess it's okay to throw out the old one as long as one is not using the others at the same time.
SPeaking of departed sadgeezers, what happened to Chameleon (sp?) and The Invisible Lunatic? Hope all is well with them.
DT790 was before my time though I've had the chance to read some of his posts. Enjoyed reading his debates with Aleck.

Re:New poster Dudelove76...
:D ah well, to each his own i suppose...suffice to say that bonnee is quite charming and rational when it suits, and quite the bully and sneak when he thinks he can get away with it...i suspect it's a similar situation to dudelove in that many of you have been around long enough on all the boards to be more familiar with dudelove, whereas those of us who have suffered through bonnee's bad behavior here have grown more weary- and wary- of him ;)
ADM is another long timer here whose feelings run ahead of his brain sometimes...he's very loyal and emotional, and very binary in his reponses (you are with me or against me and so forth) but he has never actually started a fight...he is hypersensitive enough to continue a fight where none was intended, and it takes some mollifying to get him to see the other viewpoint...overall not a bad or mean person however...and good practice for real world 8)
Re:New poster Dudelove76...
Re:New poster Dudelove76...
Re:New poster Dudelove76...
Re:New poster Dudelove76...
For one thing, his profound love for KISS and Alice Cooper always gives him away. ;)
Here's his banned from Lexx.com thread
