Flame - what the fuck is that about!

Your post in the angst forum seems like bad eggs? What are you playing at?

The comment that you weren't consulted after being away for so long was bloody silly! If you are going to have a pop at someone, do it in private, I really don't want to see SadBOARD turn into a forum for your own private angst!

Re:Flame - what the fuck is that about!

Sad, did you remove the censor part 2 post from the Sci-Fi Angst forum?

Re:Flame - what the fuck is that about!

No I didn't?

Anyone any idea why the thread was deleted?

Re:Flame - what the fuck is that about!

:? perhaps flame deleted it? i find it interesting that he has not responded to your post...it is perhaps in keeping with his behavior of the last several months; to wit, sneaking around badmouthing other sadgeezers and spreading misinformation on the other boards, and to the dragoncon people...but not having the garbanzo's to work things out directly with anyone...you are a petty and meanspirited person flamegrape, and i for one have had it with your lies and manipulations

Re:Flame - what the fuck is that about!

Well I see that Flame is still active on the board.

Tell ya what. I do not want a running war on the boards with you flame. Since you are in a post deleting mood, if you delete the Price of Dragon Con posts from here and Lexx.com, I will let this latest attempt to slam me pass. And we can all decide to live together in if not harmony, at least civility. What do ya think?

Re:Flame - what the fuck is that about!

This is very worrying! I don't know why a whole thread should have been deleted like that and I still don't know who did it or why.

I need to discusss this with Flame urgently and as a result I've had to suspend Flame's moderator rights until this matter is sorted out. I'm absolutely convinced that it WILL be sorted out soon and as a result Flame still has access to this forum and the Help Usergroup forum.

As soon as we've chatted and sorted things out then I'll re-instate Flame as a moderator.

I've taken this action as a security measure because I'm worried by the rumours that are flying round and because I've not heard from Flame for a while. (For all I know, someone has his ID and is trying to cause trouble).

I don't really like that idea frey. I understand your thinking on this, but I just don't like thought of mature posts (ie. posts that have a history or that have had a number of replies) being deleted. There are two reasons for this. The first being that it's difficult to resolve threads that are deleted - they are still in our mind even though they may have disappeared and also I think it always looks sinister when a thread is deleted after so long. Secondly, I don't think it's worthy of deletion. There were some concerns expressed and I think these were answered effectively. If the thread turns into something more serious then it has legal implications (ie. slander etc.) and this applies to all threads and posts.

Your treatment of Fatguy in the deletion of his post was not a problem for me. As far as I was concerned, if you as a moderator (with experience of the community you moderate) decide that a post is offensive you have every right to edit or delete the post. But I would argue against it a couple of months after it's been posted or indeed, if the post had received a number of replies.

In some cases we could have time to discuss editing or deleting a certain post in the mods forum. We may also have the opportunity to email or private message the poster to discuss it, but better still, I think I should look at ways of clarifying an opportunity (or understanding at least) for a poster to contact mods or admins and ask if a particular post they are planning could be allowed - ie. be advised beforehand. Perhaps I could add a post in the Help forum and get the group to comment.

Re:Flame - what the fuck is that about!

Well if that is your preference Saddy, I certainly have no problem with it. :) I only suggested it to shut down a potential problem for Flame in the future.

That problem being my response to the whole mess, now that DC has come to a successful conclusion. Flame is in the un-envialble position of having his words come back to haunt him.

But, enough on this subject, I have a meeting I am busy being late for. Later! :D

Re:Flame - what the fuck is that about!

I've been awayt since Tuesday (weird access problems - I could access all other websites except the ones from my host!!) and still don't have access to my email yet.

Since I've not been able to get any emails I haven't heard from Flame so I'm not able to help resolve this yet.

Hopefully I should get my email back soon.

Is there any way to archive or log this stuff? I've never deleted a thread but I've almost hit the "X" on my posts a few times instead of edit.

Ahh, was wondering why he had a news story waiting for approval, I was 'bout to send ol'Flame an email calling him a lazy git. =p

Seems like Flame albeit a bit curt in his reaction; What is it with all the drama around here lately, yeesh! I seem to recall a thread about the forums with awol moderators recently and for this to happen is really bad timing considering others have been trying to pick up the slack.

I don't want to sound sanctamonius, hell I've pissed off my fair share of posters! But if you got a dispute with another mod, by all means instead of airing this on the public forums send a PM or e-mail. If the numbers of hits are even remotly accurate, the posters represent a small % of the actual visitors per day. And I'd personally like to encourage as much conversation as possible.

Sad, did you get my email? I've sent it twice already.

Re:Flame - what the fuck is that about!

No mate! Sorry :(

or the forseeable future or until I can change servers, I have no access to email or FTP. I can access this this (web only) via my ISP's proxy server so I can see Private messages. Perhaps you could copy your email intyo a Private Message in the facility on sadboard?

Then at least I should be able to see it.

Having said that, I have a pall over form the US for a few days and we're off to Dublin over the weekend, so it may be Monday before I can reply.

(I wish I had noticed this thread earlier. This particular forum is new to me. I started reading SadBoard again on 17 September and so I didn't notice it. All I saw was a locked thread pertaining to this subject. So I took it upon myself to reopen the issue in a new thread in the SciFi Angst forum. That caused a lot of confusion and everybody and their dog yelled at me.)
Yes, and I noticed that when you started catching a bit of flak for your comments and attitude you deleted the thread. :) One of the many things you complained about in that thread was that "I am the other moderator of the fan fiction forums. And unfortunately, I was not consulted about this issue at all." Well let us see about this one. You left the board months earlier after flaming posts on Sadgeezer, Sci-Fi and Lexx.com concerning me and what I was 'doing' to the Lexx Stars with their DragonCon appearance. You then wrote numerous emails to 'everybody and their dog' slandering me and HDS. Having done that, I am amazed that you would think that I would ever contact you about anything. Were you on fire, I would not bring the location of a bucket of water to your attention. I personally had no problem with you prior to MegaCon. That you had a bit of a melt down at that event was, I felt, your personal business. I certainly was not about to discuss it on the boards. Imagine my surprise when you posted to this very forum, six pages of complaints and lies about Mr. Lowe and HDS. I was further amazed when you then posted a few days later (after you had calmed down) that certain things had been 'explained' to you, and it was okay now. Funny thing though, all the stuff that was 'suddenly okay' was stuff you knew about prior to the original post. Go figure. That you were a bit upset that not everything went as you would have liked at MegaCon was understandable. Disappointment when life does not go exactly as we would like, is one of the bummers of being alive. But then you turned on everyone involved, including apparently me, since you never contacted me directly about 'your concerns' after that convention, even when they involved me. All that said to me, was that, "Marc does not play well with others." When you went into your DragonCon melt down, you sent some pretty nasty stuff to several people 'demanding' answers. Again, you never contacted me. You threw a total fit over not doing the 'Party Page for Lexx DragonCon' when I had a page devoted to all aspects of Lexx at DragonCon for over a year. You were approached for the MegaCon party page by HDS because I declined it, wanting to focus all my efforts on DragonCon. So my already having a Lexx DragonCon Info page was not news to you. Mr. Lowe, forgetting about my DragonCon page, contacted Mothbreeder about doing a Party Page. Yet he did not contact you. Perhaps he remembered the rant you sent him over MegaCon and decided to go with someone a bit easier to get along with. When this arrangement was presented to, me unlike other people, I did not go postal. Of course Mothbreeder is a pretty easy going guy and I welcomed the opportunity to have one less thing to do. I was also sure that if I made suggestions or pointed out errors on the page, Mothbreeder, unlike others, would not insist on having a personal note from god before he changed things. As it turns out I was right. Which brings us back to your last public attack on me and your lament that I "did not contact you." :) Why be upset, I was merely following your lead. You have noticed (and indeed commented on) the fact that I have not responded to anything you said in the posts deriding me for my handing of the forums or the whole DragonCon thing. Hopefully you are not so far gone in delusional land that you imagine that I fear to debate with you. :D I do not respond to your posts because; There is no point in arguing with the righteously self centered, even when you win, you lose. I also not believe in rewarding bad behavior with the attention it craves. And lastly, I do not believe a Sadgeezer moderator should be involved in, let alone try to start a public 'Flame Wars.' Not on this site, and most definitely not on other sites. (which is why this is here, and not on the open forum) Bummer that you did not feel similarly restrained. Well Marc, it was an experience knowing you, have a nice life. *** : ) ***

Re:Flame - what the fuck is that about!

And with that, Flamegrape has resigned as moderator on SadBOARD. I can't say I blame him. Some of that would be hard for ME to swallow never mind the somewhat sensitive Flamegrape. :)

He's also threatened me with 'appropriate action' insisting that I take down his interviews. I'm loathed to do this because frankly I think they are great! But I have no wish to wind the guy up further so I'll probably take them down (they were given to me in good faith after all). Threatening me if I didn't is laughable, I've written trade papers and magazine articles on intellectual property issues - he hasn't a leg to stand on.

Flamegrape is not able to access the moderator forum but his rights as a SadBOARD member are unchanged - until that is, he breaks any rules.
