It gets its main theatrical release (just North America?) on September 30, 2005. It's already been shown in select theatres in select cities to limited audiences as a preview screening.

I don't think the preview screening showed the "finished" product -- they will tweak it in post-production.

I guess they've been holding back a bit on the general release date since they wish to avoid the "Summer blockbuster" slot.

Anyone here go see a Serenity preview screening? It showed in many US cities.
