SciFi channel is allowing use of BattleStar Galactica clips!

Anyone that wants to make a Battlestar Galactica movie can get their special effects clips at:

The o­nly catch is that they have to have a clip at the end that promotes Battlestar Galactica (the clip is provided by the SciFi channel).  I am looking forward to all the new fan movies that will be out soon.  This is a great move by the SciFi channel!!!

Galactica Gets a Fourth Season

SCI FI Channel announced that it has renewed its Peabody-winning original series Battlestar Galactica, ordering 13 new episodes. Production will resume this summer in Vancouver, Canada, with an eye toward a January 2008 premiere.

The decision comes after the series' successful move to a new 10 p.m. timeslot o­n Sundays. Since moving, Battlestar Galactica's audience has grown over its third-season average by 8 percent in total viewers, by double digits in female viewers, by 19 percent in the show's target demographic of adults aged 18-49 and by 14 percent in adults 25-54. The Jan. 28 episode, "Taking a Break From All Your Worries," delivered 2.5 million total viewers and 1.6 million adults 18-49, the largest audience for any episode since the season-two premiere.

'Bionic' skein rebuilt at NBC

E! O­nline news exerpted a Daily Variety report that Battlestar Galactica exec. prod. David Eick will be teaming with Laeta Kalogridis to produce a "new take" o­n The Bionic Woman, seventies spin-off of the Six Million Dollar Man. They are planning to "re-invent" the show for NBC.

Sci Fi Announces Galactica Spin Off

NEW YORK—SCI FI Channel announced the development of Caprica, a spinoff prequel of its hit Battlestar Galactica, in presentations to advertisers in New York o­n April 26. Caprica would come from Galactica executive producers Ronald D. Moore and David Eick, writer Remi Aubuchon (24) and NBC Universal Television Studio.

Caprica would take place more than half a century before the events that play out in Battlestar Galactica. The people of the Twelve Colonies are at peace and living in a society not unlike our own, but where high technology has changed the lives of virtually everyone for the better.

Galactica Wins Peabody

SCI FI Channel's original series Battlestar Galactica has been honored with the prestigious Peabody Award, which recognizes distinguished achievement in electronic media. It is the first Peabody Award for the network.

Galactica Ventures into Comics

Dynamic Forces, the parent company of Dynamite Entertainment, announced o­n Thursday an agreement with Universal Studios Consumer Product Group to release comics based o­n the modern version of Battlestar Galactica. The comic series will launch this fall. No creators were announced.

"We are confident in Dynamite Entertainment's ability to develop and distribute high-quality comics that will build off of the strength and staying power of this great property," said Cynthia Modders, senior vice president of sales and retail development at Universal Studios Consumer Products Group.

Season 2: Coming Soon Enough

There is an unconfirmed (but believable) rumour o­n the Scifi.com bboards that Battlestar Galactica's second season will begin o­n Friday July 15th at 10:00 PM, after the 9th and 2nd season premiers of Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis.

Galactica gets a 20 Episode Second Season

SyFy Portal is reporting that Battlestar Galactica has been picked up by NBC Universal (Sci Fi Channel) for a 20 episode second season. Preciously it was thought that o­nly 13 episode (minimum) season were going to be produced, by BSG's exceptional ratings enticed the network enough to throw some extra money at the producers to make an additional 7 episodes. Galactica is currently the front-runner for Sci Fi Channel, and consistently ranks among cable's top 25 shows.

Galactica Gets Renewed

The new Battlestar Galactica series has done what no other BSG incarnation has yet to due, get renewed for another season. Sci Fi Channel officially announced today that Battlestar Galactica will return for a second season; confirming what most fans and the ratings have known for a few weeks now. Details such as number of episodes and returning cast members have not been released yet.
